A Fire Danger Rating Calculator

The FDR Calculator is a utility for calculating the Fire Danger Rating for given weather conditions, based on the South African Fire Danger Index system.

This software is currently in use by various South African Fire Associations. It was written by and is maintained by Alan Richert.

The original version of the software was requested to be developed by the Kwazulu-Natal Fire Protection Association. It has been maintained by Alan Richert ever since and made freely available to the forestry and farming industries of South Africa.

More information on the Fire Danger Index system can be found on the KZN FPA website.

The calculator is freely available for Windows (XP, 7) and Windows Mobile (6, 6.5).

There is also a version designed for the iPhone and will run on all compatible mobile devices. Please visit the App Store to check compatibility with your mobile device.
